Hi, I'm Erin Rose.
I am committed to the journey of refuge. Creating one in my body, and being one in the world.
I’ve spent 15 years studying the philosophy, science, and spiritual widsom around human flourishing.
I know that we’re all here to dance and breathe free.
As a little girl, I use to talk to angels. I would pray to them, as well as the saints in my little book, asking for advice, guidance, and support for the people around me. I didn't realize it at the time, but I was beginning my spiritual journey.
When I got to college, I had by then traded in talking to angels for talking to myself - in a very harsh and unsupportive way. It was during my early 20s in New York City that I went into a spiral. It's hard to pull yourself out of the whirlwind of anxiety, self-loathing, and not enough-ness while obsessed with perfection. I was caught in the throes of an eating disorder and a bleak outlook on life.
Then, grace brought me to yoga. In a little studio in NYC, candle-lit and creaky floors, I found yoga asana. I felt safe in my body for the first time in a long time. I cried. I realized that not all angels are invisible, and it was then that I began my journey into healing myself and recreating my reality from the inside. I committed to a path of study, studentship, practice, contemplation. I knew that I wanted to create a brave space for people to connect with themselves, their body, and the mysterious bigness that holds us all.
Today, I am ever the student and also a teacher. I get to pass on what I have learned: from my teachers, my practice, and my experience.
I work with people individually and in groups both in-person in Ojai and virtually. I offer both 1:1 and group containers.
All of my work revolves around the immense space of the heart, and the capacity it has to hold all of life. I hold the vision that we all get to experience pleasure in our bodies, ease in our minds, and the vast love that is right here.
